With the official ground-breaking on Monday November 23, 2020, Schaltbau GmbH began the construction work for a new Schaltbau production plant in Velden, Bavaria, Germany. The plant is internally designated as #NExTFactory, which stands symbolically for the four dimensions of New Energy, New Work, Excellence in Processes and Technology Driven. Schaltbau employees, group management Dr. Albrecht Köhler and Dr. Jürgen Brandes, and Vilsbiburg mayor Ludwig Creimel joined the ceremony.

Green, Smart, Efficient will be the target of our new plant operations. With this project we aim to produce carbon neutral and operate our business more sustainably. As Mr. Dirk Konrad, Managing Director of Schaltbau GmbH, stated: “In the new plant, we are virtually independent in terms of our energy supply. Our concept enables us to achieve sustainable and CO2-free production over the long term. At the same time, we rely on digitally networked and automated production processes and modern logistics in order to be able to react even more flexibly to individual customer requests in the future."
