China News Agency, Beijing, August 13 (Reporter Zhou Yin) The reporter learned from China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as China Railway Group) on the 13th that the National Railway Group's ‘New Era Railway Construction Plan for Building a Strong Transport Country’ proposed that, Strengthen the research and development and application of new vehicles.  

According to Wu Guodong, deputy director of China Railway Group's locomotive department, in the future, the main development direction of China's railway EMUs were defined in following four aspects. 

One is the higher speed class EMU.  Wu Guodong said that the National Railway Group is planning to use existing high-speed rail lines to develop a new generation of high-speed EMUs. The basic goals are safety and stability, energy conservation and environmental protection, stability and comfort, economic reliability, and the overall technological level is world-leading, which can promote and lead the world's high-speed trains. 

The second is the intelligent EMU.  Through the deep integration of the Internet, artificial intelligence and high-speed rail, the application of smart technologies such as smart driving, smart operation and maintenance, and smart services will be promoted to provide passengers with safer, high-quality, and diversified transportation services.

The third is the Fuxing Intercity EMU.  With the development of new urbanization and the formation of regional urban agglomerations, the passenger flow of intercity railways is showing a trend of rapid growth, and intercity EMUs will be a new development demand in the future.

The fourth is the high-speed rail fast-moving train group. China's e-commerce industry is developing rapidly, and the express freight market has huge potential.  China Railway Group is actively carrying out research on high-speed rail express trains, exploring the market demand and transportation mode of high-speed rail express in advance, making use of the characteristics of fast, punctual, and safe high-speed rail, improving transportation resource utilization and economic benefits, and expanding fast rail freight services.

Up to now, the number of EMUs in China has reached more than 3,600, of which about 690 EMUs of Fuxing, accounting for more than half of the total number of high-speed trains in the world.

The "New Era Railway Construction Plan for Building a Strong Transport Country" also proposes that by 2035, the intelligent Fuxing EMU will be developed to realize the automatic driving function at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The train will have a "super brain" that uses Beidou satellite navigation technology and 5G communication technology to form an air-space-ground integration. 

China Railway Group stated that in the future, China Railways will continue to move towards digital, intelligent and intelligent development.
